The APA maintains communication with a large number of psychology and related organizations worldwide. Each directorate maintains contact with U.S. psychological organizations relating to its domain, and the APA participates in many interdisciplinary coalitions for advocacy and information exchange. The Office of International Affairs publishes a newsletter for several thousand APA international affiliates, maintains contact with virtually all national psychological societies, and participates actively in international congresses, including sponsoring and organizing the 1998 International Congress of Applied Psychology.
