Critics of computerized psychological and behavioral assessment have sometimes contended that clients will respond negatively to computer interviews and will be alienated from treatment as a result. Generally, researchers have not found this to be the case. For example, one group of researchers found that neither college students nor Vietnam veterans showed a preference for a computerized or human-administered format for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder interviews. Other researchers have reported a trend toward clients' preferring the computer interview.
