Monomorphous Group

The non-Hodgkin's lymphomas are referred to as monomorphous lymphomas because, in contrast to Hodgkin's disease, they lack a significant admixture of inflammatory cells and are composed almost entirely of lymphoma cells largely derived from B lymphocytes or T lymphocytes. A classification of cutaneous lymphomas follows:

Lymphomas may have specific skin lesions containing the lymphomatous infiltrate, or nonspecific lesions may be seen. These latter consist of macules, papules, tumors, purpuric lesions, blisters, eczematous lesions, exfoliative dermatitis, and secondarily infected excoriations.
