Subcutaneous dissection toward the inferior orbital rim proceeds for a few millimeters using sharp dissection with a scalpel or scissors (Fig. 2-14 and 2-15). The tarsorrhaphy suture is used to retract the lower lid superiorly to assist in the dissection.
