1 ligh-angle cases with open-bite tendencies must be handled carefully. In these cases, it is important to leave some curve of Spee in the back of the arch, particularly in the second molar area. This allows the bile to remain closed anteriorly. If the back of the curve of Spee is leveled in such cases, there is a great risk of anterior open bite. For patients near the end of the growth period, it may be difficult or impossible to close this anterior open bite.
